Babera
This small Yezidi village's festival day is 12th April. When the Mosul Dam was built, some Ezidi villages facing inundation (1985-1986) were razed. Among these was Babera, which was rebuilt in 1987 above the new water line. It was seized by ISIS in August 2014. There were no casualties as the villagers had already evacuated in the shadow of the Sinjar massacre. ISIS held the village for just thirty days, but the shrines were destroyed. Villagers returned about three months after its liberation (in 2015) and the shrines were rebuilt. The Ezidi community's Baba Gavan lived in Babera as of February 2018.
