Lion's Gate

Also known as Saint Stephen's Gate, the first Christian martyr, who is said to have been stoned nearby. There is a pair of animals flanking this gate, hence its more common name, but they are actually tigers. The tiger was the heraldic symbol of the 13th century Sultan Beybards. It leads to the Pools of Bethesda, the Via Dolorosa, and was a flashpoint int he Six Day War.
