Jasana Caveئەشكەوتی جاسەنە

Located behind Kani Khan village, King Mahmoud made this place of refuge his headquarters when British airforces bombarded Silemani on 2nd March 1923. He also brought a printing press with him.

With this press, Sheikh Mahmoud issued 'Bengi Haq' (Kurdish for 'Call for Justice' or 'Call for Truth') from the cave: this was the first Kurdish newspaper in history.

The turnoff for the cave has a large poster, but is otherwise fairly nondescript.
