Komani (near Dere, Amedi)
Ride down [from Dere] to Komani, past fields of rice, cotton, wheat, tobacco, and gardens of various fruit trees. Komani has a new, neat church, and contains a population of 300, all Nestorians. ... Eight in the village can read and they have no Bible. Prime 1859, p 275-276; 23 November 1856
