Erbil Graveyard

Erbil's main graveyard was larger, but construction has reduced it to a cramped plot of land between newly built malls. When the malls were approved, families were given an amount of time to disinter their loved ones to be reburied somewhere else.

Some did so, but many more graves were simply lost to the construction. However, the graves of sayids were kept and shops are built around their grave markers.
