Eddie Scher was a famous Shaqlawi and Christian scholar born in February 1867. He was martyred in 1915 during the first of the Assyrian massacres that have continued the past hundred years.
A renowned polyglot, Scher was a historian and writer who spoke Aramaic, Arabic, Kurdish, Hebrew, French, Greek, Farsi, English, and more.
