In 1924, the Ahmadi Gate opened on the northern side. Mayor Ahmad Afandi opened the Ahmadi Gate with its grand round brick arch. It was later used for vehicular entry. This new gate profoundly changed the pedestrian alleyway network and brought big development pressures to the citadel.
