Amedi Minaret
The minaret of the main mosque is 33m high and associated with Sultan Hussein Wali (1534-1570). Its beautiful column rises above Amedi and can be seen from across the valley.
There are beautiful details around the base and doorway. The minaret was damaged by munitions in the Kurdish Civil War but has been restored, and the imam lets visitors walk to the top.
