Shrine of Muzaffar Gökböri

Entering the nondescript doorway, this mosque is a gorgeous sanctuary for the tomb of Muzaffar, the 12th century ruler of Erbil.

It opens on Wednesdays and is cared for by a woman. The shrine is often totally quiet except for Mawlud, the birthday of Prophet Mohammed.

The shrine is overall unassuming. Nearby is the minaret also associated with Muzaffar.
