Church of the Virgin Mary

This small chapel is on the upper level of the monastery. It is usually locked, but contains the nave, iconostatis, and sanctuary that characterizes Orthodox churches. Notable, the sanctuary is located above the tombs of the saints and there is a small opening behind the altar in the sanctuary that looks down onto the the tomb of Saint Matthew.
