Lizzy van Dorp
Lizzy van Doorp was born 1872 in Arnhem, and emerged as a pioneering Dutch lawyer, economist, politician and feminist who stood up for human rights. She was ultimately forced into exile due to the rise of Naziism and the affiliation of her political enemies with that movement. Around 1942, she was imprisoned in a Japanese internment camp and died there in 1945. However, her legacy has persevered over that of her enemies and she is renowned to this day.
