Abena Busia

Abena was born in Accre, Ghana into the Yenfri royal family in 1953, which later settled in Oxford, UK where she attended university. With a B.A in English Literature and later a degree in Social Anthropology (Race Relations, she has been a professor on African and Afro-American studies in two renowned universities, the University of Ghana and Yale.

Not only is she a writer, she’s also a poet, educator, feminist and politician. In 2017, Abena was appointed Ghana’s ambassador to Brazil in South America. She’s among the top 22 distinguished Ghanaians named head of different diplomatic Ghanaian missions around the world.
