Harriet Tubman
Harriet Tubman (1822 - 1913) was an American abolitionist (advocate against slavery) and activist. She was born a slave, but escaped and made about thirteen missions to rescue seventy other slaves. She accomplished this through a network of fellow abolitionists and safe houses which came to be called the Underground Railroad. Unbeknownst to her, Rosa Parks was born the year she passed away and would help carry on her legacy.
