Roof Agreementwas signed on April 4, 2017 in the presence of Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, the Minister of Treasury, Moshe Kachlon, the Minister of Housing and Construction, Yoav Gallant, the Director of the Israel Land Administration, Adiel Shimron, and the Mayor of Or Yehuda, Liat Shochat.Within the framework of the signed agreement, the Israel Land Administration will market 5020 new housing units in the city. The plan includes developing new neighborhoods, such as the
Park Ayalonneighborhood that will constitute 1870 new housing units, already in the course of the coming year. The additional factors of the Roof Agreement plans will be marketed throughout 2018 – 2020, and they will include thePardess Be’chisachonneighborhood, constituting 2350 new housing units with an adjacent 64 thousand square meters intended for employment opportunities, and thePinkas on the Parkneighborhood constituting 1870 new housing units with an adjacent area of 800 thousand square meters also intended for employment purposes.In addition to the new neighborhoods, the agreement also includes employment development in the southern area where approximately 20 thousand square meters of employment areas will be built, and a drainage mechanism will be built around the city to prevent flooding. Roof Agreementis the investment in the city’s older neighborhoods, in public institutes, institutes of education, roads, sewer infrastructure and drainage, building new parks and upgrading the old, and paving bicycle paths throughout the city.
