Lee Miller
A photojournalist who took some of the 20th centuries most iconic but tragic photographs, Lee (born 1907 in New York) innovated visual storytelling and put her own life on the line to tell stories that we continue to study and see to this day. She began as a fashion model, before going behind the camera and finally becoming a war correspondent for Vogue during World War II. Her portfolio includes iconic images of Jews in liberated Nazi death camps.
