Qasra Mound • گردی قه‌سرا • تل قسرا

Qasra Mound is located in Ankawa across from Saint George Church and the Chaldean Civilization Museum.

Qasra Mound is an oval covering 200 meters, rising 6 meters above its surrounding. Findings from the mound testify to use during the Uruk, Sumerian, Hurrian, Mitani, and Assyrian eras. Its current shape perhaps is from use as a local palace during the Assyrian era (911 - 612 BC). Qasra Mound was first surveyed in 1945 May 10. It was resurveyed by a team from Salahaddin University in 2004-2005.
