There is another village called Shekhka nearby. This village is inhabited by Yezidis, while the other Shekhka is inhabited by Muslims – Muslim Shekhka • شێخكا • شیخكا. The modern village is across the road from the ancient original site that was bombed in the Anfal (which had a church).
