Anne Frank
Anne Frank never saw her own future. While Lee Miller was photographing the Jewish survivors of Nazi death camps, one person who did not survive was Anne Frank, who was born 1929 in Germany. However, she had kept a meticulous diary before her arrest and this was later published my her father Otto Frank, who survived the Nazi annihilation of Jewry from Europe.
Her diary has become one of the epochal books of the 20th century, showing in heartbreaking but mundane detail the slow encroachment and entrapment of war on a young girl's life up to the weeks before her murder.
