Sufaya • صفية

Sufaya is the largest of the Kakaii villages near Kalek, which together support a robust map of shrines and social structures. The town was the only one to not fall to ISIS in August 2014, but still suffered some damages from rockets and missiles. It has 1100-1200 families.

It is treated as part of Kurdistan's Khabat district, versus the other villages are administered by Kurdistan following ISIS' advance but are formally part of Khabat subdistrict in Iraq's Hamdaniya district.
