Vian Rahman

Vian was a dean and teacher for 25 years in Akre, Dohuk, and Erbil in a very conservative time. What sets her apart is that she thrived despite her extremely vulnerable fate as a widow and single mother. At that time, anybody who did not like you could literally kill you by killing your reputation — sometimes it only needed an angry neighbor or admirer to end a woman's life.
