Greta Thunberg

Greta is a Swedish schoolgirl born in 2003 who has become a worldwide role model for student environmental activism. She began her activism in August of 2018 by protesting in front of the Swedish parliament, which eventually lead to the ‘school strike for climate’ movement.

By mid-March of this year, an estimated 1.4 million school age students joined her call to protesting climate change. UN General Secretary Antonio Guterres supports Greta, admitting that “My generation has failed to respond properly to the dramatic challenge of climate change. This is deeply felt by young people. No wonder they are angry.” Another global protest is scheduled to take place on May 24, 2019.
