Rosa Parks • رۆزا پاركس

Through an act of resistance — refusing to give up to her seat on a segregated bus to a white person — Rosa Parks (1913 - 2005) went on to serve the cause of human rights in the United States for the oppressed African American minority there. She was born the year abolitionist Harriet Tubman passed away, and continued her legacy with earning the title of "mother of the freedom movement" for black civil rights.
